Coronavirus: Un conseil de Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince
We live in a country where health infrastructures, worthy of the name, are almost non-existent. And considering the rapid spread of Coronavirus around the world, we come to the conclusion that Haiti is not able to adequately cope with this contamination so massive and so lethal.
As a wise spiritual guide, the Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince believes that it would be irresponsible on its part to continue inviting you to its services. While simple actions can slow the spread of this scourge and thereby save many lives.
In such circumstances, praying without acting would be a plausible lack of discernment. While our Master and Lord Jesus himself, who " ...called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT), commands us this:
“Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors…” Luke 21:36 (NLT)
Today, the best weapon to fight COVID-19 is hygiene; above all, hand washing, and the practice of social distancing: No kisses, no handshakes, no hugs…
To guard against these traditional gestures, nothing is better advised than to remain at home, as much as possible. Above all, do not wait for the authorities to order you to confine yourself to your home. By this time, it may be too late for you and your loved ones, allowing for the silent spread, with no immediate symptoms of the virus.
In an effort to help the congregation protect itself and mitigate risks, all of our religious, academic and other activities are put on hold as of the publication of this note.
In about two to three weeks, the Council of Elders, the supreme body of Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince, will meet to assess the situation and take any decisions it deems appropriate.
With the help of God, we will do everything in our power to nourish you spiritually during these difficult times. Arrangements are made to publish the Bible Studies offline, every Wednesday and Sunday, in the regular time slots of our services. They will be available on our website and via our WhatsApp account located at:+509 4062 9292
In conclusion, we urge you to pray unceasingly and to strengthen your faith in God, because everything is under his control.
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. » Philippians 4:7 (NLT)
